SFLBC Fight Song

Every school needs a good fight song. Well, maybe not necessarially a good one. Take The University of Tennessee, The Vols, if you will. I've got nothing against the Vols, so keep that in mind. Their fight song is "Rocky Top". Let's take a gander at one of the verses, shall we?...

Folks say corn won't grow on Rocky Top
Soil's too rocky by far
That's why all the folks on Rocky Top
Get their corn from a jar

Let's unpack this. It won't be hard. UT, God love 'em, is essentially telling the other team, "Dudes! We're drunk. And not even on the top shelf stuff they serve up at frat parties. No, we're drunk on fermented grain that some sweaty, toothless man named Cousin Grandpa cooked up in a rusted out steel drum. You thought you'd kick our butts at this football game today just because we're inbred and less coordinated? Well, we've got news for you! We're inbred AND plastered. So take that and punt it!"

It just seems like a good idea that the fight song should represent the strengths of the school. Or, at least that's my philosophy behind choosing a fight song for SFLBC.
An esteemed reader, Nicole, suggested the following video. And I'm pleased to announce the Stacy From Louisville Bible College Fight Song, "Baby Got Book".

Remember, (now say it with me), "At SFLBC we do have standards. We just forgot where we put them."

I've been a fan of Baby Got Book for a long time now. My family and I know it by heart. My husband actually went to the dude's website and ordered his DVD. He is really funny.

That's so funny! I've seen this video before but can't remember where. My husband was cracking up when I played it for him. "NIV with the ribbon bookmark..."

Speaking of tacky Christian parodies...
:D
Baby Got Book is probably the silliest thing I've seen in a while.

This video is a hoot - gonna have to embed it myself but you'll get all the props for the find. Can't believe I'm laughing this hard at 5:45 am!

Oh wow. My father-in-law found this video a few years ago, I guess, and my mother-in-law HATES it! So everytime he wanted to show it to someone new he would ask her to leave the room, which she would do while rolling her eyes and muttering something incoherent under her breath. Ahh, memories.

I, on the other hand, am with my FIL and you, I enjoy this song, and was so excited to see it's resurgance here at SFL. Fancy.

My husband and I love this song. Just this weekend, when we were getting ready to leave for church, I asked him, "Which Bible do you want me to grab for you?" His response: "Thompson Chain with the big red letters." Baby got Book.

My favorite Christian rap video ever is Jesus Muzik:

"ridin with my top down"

baby got book is classic. Maybe you should get that wedding dance video and superimpose the baby got book over it so that the video will be extra holy.

I'm from Kentucky and I like Rocky Top. It talks about the simple life, and it makes me a bit sentimental.
