Jon Acuff's Birthday is December 19!

December 19 is National Jon Acuff Birthday Day. In order to celebrate Jon's birthday we need to send him some cards ASAP. 10 cards would be nice. 50 cards would be exceptional. But 200 cards - well that would be downright annoying. So that's why we're shooting for 200. To pull this off we have to work together and do 2 things:

1) Send Jon a card, or two... And it doesn't have to be a birthday card. Got a leftover Sympathy card in the bottom of a junk drawer? Perfect! Have a Christmas card you just got in the mail? Scratch out your friend's name and write yours in. Whatever option takes the least amount of work for you, pursue that option. (Please be sure to include your user name, too.)

2) Put the word out on your blog! Tell people what we're doing and how they can get involved.

Here's Jon's address:

Jonathan Acuff
PO Box 4522
Alpharetta, GA, 30023

And just in case some of you are thinking, "This is stupid!", I have one thing to say: YES, you are correct. And that's why we're doing it.

We've got to work fast! Post on your blog today!

This is great. I saw your title and thought "Whee@! Birthday!" and then I thought "Boo. I have no appropriate cards..." But you have made everything All OK, and I can send him the birthday card that I was going to send my grandmother for her 94th birthday... last spring.
wv: subili. Not overtly. With a subtleness not normally associated with greeting cards. As in "I'm making him feel old by subili sending him a great-grandmother card".

There were some nice choices in my stationary drawer. I'm pretty sure he'll enjoy them.

Too funny. I might recruit my 4 year old to help with this one. Hope he likes Disney Princesses....

Wahoo...the kitty card is in the mail.
I did this to my sister when she turned 40...she got over 100 cards in the mail. some from people she knew and a bunch from people she didn't know. it was very fun.

I've posted for all 3 people who read my blog. It isn't going to be much of a secret now that you have it on FaceBook! Jon will be standing by the mailbox with a big Santa bag just waiting for all the skittles.

Amen to Jocelyn on the Pete Wilson thing. Holy. Cow.

wv: prediu as in "I'm prediu Stacy for going to such great lengths to harass Jon."

Oh, I'm totally doing this. Every time I get to read Jon's blog at work, it's both good (a welcome distraction from tedium) and bad (I have to hold my laughter in, which everyone knows is unhealthy). I'll put this on my blog tomorrow.

Stacy, I just recently found your blog through Brenda's. I'm a big fan of sarcasm. I'll be back. :)

Jon is going to be 33. This isn't Jon...but his wife Jenny, I don't comment much so I just use his identity.

Thanks for the heads-up, Stacy!

I sent a beautiful sympathy card....

Thanks for organizing this! Just the thought makes me smile. I sent an awesome card out today...

I sent 3 cards that I made into postcards because there were no envelopes to send them in. Each one has "happy birthday" in a different language!

Sent mine on Saturday. I used a wedding thank you card and wrote in "for being born" under "thank you".

wv: "jingl". No lie. I wish I was making this up.
