I'm not going to pretend to be cool, because I'm not. My children, 5 and 7, are starting to figure this out for themselves and it's not pretty. This past Sunday I walked my daughter to her Sunday School class. As we walked she kept saying, "It's okay Mom. Seriously, I can walk myself to the chapel." My feelings were hurt, I'm not gonna lie. But at the same time I realized she saw my NQ (Nerd Quotient) for what it was: a big, thick stew of crazy about to boil over, and she wasn't about to get spattered.
So to celebrate my affinity for all things odd and ridiculous, I'd like to share my all time favorite rewrite of secular music lyrics, cause you know I'm wicked crazy in love with that concept. Remember "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson? Yeah, it didn't ever make sense to me either. But luckily, in this stellar portrayal it's all about evangelism.
Since it's all about evangelism be sure to show it to at least 3 unsaved friends. They will immediately understand everything you have labored to communicate to them. They're going to come flying forward.
Trust me.

Cookies and the book of Revelation on a Sunday afternoon.
Brimstone and hellfire keeps Granny's cookies warm.
Seriously, this is SO my newest favorite blog to read! Amazing!! I've been watching the "Jesus is My Friend" (by Sonseed) video all weekend, after it was posted on SCL the other day, and now this. My cup runneth over (all the more with which to water someone's camels? hmmm....)!
By the way, I believe you satisfactorily addressed the issue of dancing policy (I was very relieved to hear that dancing like the cop/mailman from the YHWH video was strictly forbidden), but I don't recall...do you maintain a specific guy-to-girl ratio at SFLBC? Because I want a decent selection to choose from when deciding whose camels I offer to water. (And I do hope your facilities management team is up to the task of cleaning up after all of those camels....) What can I say? I'm a demanding customer.
Mind if i put this on my blog? I've been developing a blog of crazy christian video clips and this is certainly one of them!
BAAAAAH! LOL! I LIKE IT! Sorry for yelling, but I'm really hyped up now. I am so thankful God has created people with such talent as to remake a MJ song into, well, THAT! I have the gift of sarcasm, but compared to originality, sarcasm isn't all that. Sarcasm feeds off the talents of others. Those who can actually come up with stuff, that's talent! That's a gift! Thanks for sharing this video.
you will not believe this...all 3 people...saved.
Ok I've just discovered that it's possible to type with your arm in a sling. The funny thing about this song and this kind of stuff in general is that I actually have taught a bunch of my christian guitar students how to play this and other stuff by the band Apologetix because their parents don't like "secular" music and most of the christian music is so horrible it's hard to use to teach them to play instruments. If you look up apologetix you'll find more horrible videos and a few really touching ones.
very hillarious
But, I do want to say, that the MJ video of this song was way cool. That was pre-freak MJ. Or at least before his freakiness was common knowledge.
Teamstrand,
I heart you. And all 3 of your friends who a new to the fold. You make me laugh every time. You've got my number.
"Granny karaokes to old tapes of Sandy Patti..." It does not get better than this.
Hahahaha!
But so true!
I live with my grandma, and she really does try to feed me all the time! I have a wheat allergy, though, so most of the time I just tell her "I can't eat that."
That was awesome.
Of course, I don't think you've lived until you've heard "Baby Got Book": http://www.whiteboydj.com/babygotbook.html
