Breathe Deep

In interest of simplicity, take this in. Then, breathe deep. (Turn up your speakers & don't let the intro throw you.)

How do you think you'd be different if you were willing to just breathe Him in? I'll go first. I'd be calmer. Just before I yell, get angry, or generally lose it, I'd stop. I'd stop and say no to the nastiness that makes me anxious or depressed. I'd stop, calm down, and breathe Him in. It's something He's teaching me right now.

How about you?

I almost shut it off at the intro. So glad I didn't. I won't answer your question here, but know that i will think about this today.

I would be less anxious. Sometimes I just get overwhelmed. A lot of times it's in the middle of the night. A lot of times I'll go outside, look up at the stars, and literally just stop and breathe in and remember that God is bigger than everything. Thanks for posting this song today. I love that song's invitation for all of us to bring our brokenness to Him.

It was particularly timely and meaningful because most of the guys in the Lost Dogs used to be my clients when I was doing photography, and that song brought back memories of so much of their other material. I can't believe that they aren't more popular.

Linda,
I can't believe you worked with these guys. They are amazing and it says much about your talent! I fell in love with this song in Bible college in '94. The conservative admin. did not like this song; they found it disturbing. Imagine their surprise when we began singing it in chapel service. Another favorite of mine is "Pray Where You Are".

Vanilla,
Ha! I knew the intro would throw some off the track. I made a note in the post. This song says so much. Glad you enjoyed it!

I actually like fiddle music, so I was cool with the intro. The message in the lyrics is pretty awesome, too.

Interesting song. Kind of reminds me of songs like "It's the End of the World as We Know it" by REM, and "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel. Only this song is a little more toned down.

I know I need to make more time to breathe deep.
